Dear Anna Dann
Susan B. said
she had sent Mrs Harper’s
letter to you, & given you
the news in general –
Miss Mills came here last
Saturday & remained until
Monday P.M. Sunday PM
was a regular reception.
Mrs. Greenleaf, Hallowell,
Willis, Anthony Moshers, and
others, so no reading nor
writing – Wednesday I went
to Hilton with the three Miss
Anthony & Miss Maria Anthony, to eat
strawberries, short-cake, chicken
fixings &c – it was a delightful

day, and a pleasant time
but rather cool – beautiful
weather yet for attic work –
Jessie “catches on” very
well – Brother Daniel spent
yesterday with us, and Jessie
did the dinner – all good
enough for any body, the King
& Mrs. Harper included –
I suppose Jennie is
leaving for the west this morning,
in anticipation of the lovely
future, like most young people –
Would that all could
realize such anticipations to
the fullest extent – Susan B
seems about as before her visit
east – How does your father
& mother feel about their two girls
leaving them? Please remember me to them.
Very truly – Mary S. Anthony
