My Dear family I left New
York at 6 AM Sunday
morning we are at present
in sight of the Island of
Cuba we pass between
Santo domingo & Cuba
we have a full passenger
list we are all acquainted
there is not the least
reserve on any persons
part Sunday was cold

Monday we shed our
overcoats Tuesday we
had on our [illegible]
but this morning we are
in full summer
regalia, crash & white
duck being in the
majority nothing of interest
has happened so far
I am getting considerable
information about the
Canal three fourths
of the passengers are
employes, some going out
first time others returning

after vacation they are
of all grades of Engineers
Purchasing agents &
Engineers and Mechanics
of Every trade I am feeling
first class I am not
worrying about the
business. I expect
everything is going all
OK
