Illustration, packet boat on the Erie Canal

A reproduction of a watercolor created in 1900 by Edward Lamson Henry, an artist who was fascinated by 19th century American transportation. This image depicts travel by packet boat along the Erie Canal. Note the passengers riding on top of the boat. The horses pulling the boat can be seen on the towpath to the right.
