Patricia Quolin was born and raised south of Mexico City, Mexico. She moved to the United States after meeting her husband and over the last two decades, they lived in numerous cities throughout the country before moving to Rochester, NY, two years prior to this interview.

In this interview, Quolin discusses her family in Mexico, her and her children’s relationship with language, and the traditions that she has made an effort to introduce to her children. She explains some of the differences she encountered marrying someone from the United States, a bit of what she misses about Mexico, and how she identifies as Latina. She also discusses her difficulties finding a place in the broader Latino community.
