Interview, Crystal Martinez

Crystal Martinez was born in 1988 and raised in Rochester, New York, by her Puerto Rican parents. At the time of this interview she lives in Florida with her family and works as a registered nurse. 

In this interview, Crystal Martinez discusses teaching herself Spanish at the age of 15 and raising her children to understand their Puerto Rican heritage. She describes visiting Puerto Rico with her family, teaching her children Spanish, and generational differences among her family. She also discusses her career, Puerto Rican food, her faith and involvement in her church, and discrimination she has experienced and witnessed.
