Painting, Erie Canal view

Horses pull a packet boat carrying passengers along a scenic bend on the Erie Canal. Steep, tree-covered cliffs rise above the canal on both sides. A small house is tucked between the towpath and cliff to the left. A ladder rises up the cliff from the towpath, near where a woman is walking with a water pail. On the canal, a man poles along on a raft.
