Workers repair the Erie Canal at a spot where it passed over Irondequoit Creek. In September 1912, the culvert carrying the creek under the canal collapsed during a construction project on the new state Barge Canal system. Thousands of gallons of water flooded the surrounding area. This section of the canal was drained in order to fix the break. The view faces east along the canal bed in Bushnell’s Basin.
